what is the difference between fairness and equality?to be fair the ruling class(whites) have had a historical head-start of advantages that most minorities now have to strive for through a modern consensus of hard-work rather than cheating or unfair advantage(since it may be a means for the minority to catch up to the standards of the ruling class in generational masses)making affirmative action in some sense is fair.I stand to be corrected but practice of fairness which includes tolerance and respect is necessary for equality and European descents did not recognize that when killing native Americans and stealing lands. After cheating historically a huge mass of people, although unequal it is fair if the majority give room to the minority to get the same advantage.
