The principles of our founding are different than, some might even say incompatible with those of European countries. Our histories are different, our existential experiences are different. Why then should we be accepting European socialism and world view as one that is appropriate for the US? It used to be that Europeans envied our way of life, emulated it and followed our leadership. At least that was until the US began abandoning its principles and core values. Time to re-assert these and expose them to the world, instead of blindly following other nations in a direction that has repeatedly shown to only cause pain and misery.
